PNA Mission Statement

In order to create and maintain safe, healthy and productive neighborhoods, we, as an association, agree to: Promote activities which encourage neighbors to work and play together; Plan meetings that welcome citizen commentary, resource information, and creativity; Create a welcoming association for our diverse population.

The Community Association of Portsmouth (TCAP) is a Non-Profit 501 (c) (3) Tax Exempt community association, doing business as Portsmouth Neighborhood Association.


PNA Membership

Membership in the Association is open to anyone who lives, rents or owns property within the boundary.  Membership is also open to one voting representative from each business, organization, church or government agency, which exists within the boundaries of PNA.  To become a registered member, you must attend a Community Forum or Board Meeting.


PNA Community Forum Meetings

PNA Community Forums are held at minimum two times per year from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Community Education Center located at 4625 N. Trenton. This meeting is for the general public.

The agenda for forum meetings is set at the board meetings. If you want to have a topic added to the forum agenda, then you must notify the chair person or secretary at least ten days in advance. At the boards discretion, the item will be added to the agenda.

The PNA Board usually meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Community Education Center located at 4625 N. Trenton.

The public is welcome to observe all meetings, but time for the public to speak is granted by request only. If you want to have a topic added to the board agenda, then you must notify the chair person or secretary at least ten days in advance. At the boards discretion, the item will be added to the agenda and the interested party is granted 3 minutes total to speak at the end of the meeting. The board may choose to grant the party more time to speak. If the topic is a request for a charitable donation, then the person must include the amount requested, a brief summary of how you will use the funds and a description of how the PNA will get recognition.
